The Jewish community is ready to give John Galliano his second chance. The famed designer, who was previously fired from his role at Dior after making a slew of anti-Semitic statements and is now creative director at Maison Margiela, has been revealed as the keynote speaker at an upcoming Jewish event in London.

Connect, a new initiative created by three West End synagogues in London of "as a way of bringing Jews and Jewish learning back into the West End”, will host its inaugural fashion themed evening on May 28, where Galliano will speak alongside with Maureen Kendler from the London School of Jewish Studies and Rabbi Sam Taylor from the Western Marble Arch.

The event, which is organised by Jonathan Newhouse, chairman and CEO of Conde Nast, aims to “bring together like-minded Jews in Central London for a series of special evenings.” Newhouse is also the man who reportedly introduced Galliano to Rabbi Barry Marcus of the Central synagogue as part of the designer's rehabilitation.
