London College of Fashion splits MA show

London College of Fashion, part of University of the Arts London, is to host separate MA catwalk showcases for its menswear and womenswear students for the first time as a “reflection of the strength” of the course.

The MA menswear show will coincide with London Collections: Men, taking place on Friday, January 9 at the Welsh Chapel on Shaftesbury Avenue, London. The womenswear catwalk will take place on the eve of London Fashion Week, Thursday, February 19.

“The U.K. men’s wear sector is incredibly exciting and dynamic,” Professor Frances Corner, head of London College of Fashion told WWD. “By holding this show we can provide a platform for our…graduates who will be the future creative drivers of the industry.”

It is hoped that by splitting the MA show it will give an equal platform to both its menswear and womenswear courses.
