French auction house Million & Associés will auction 425 vintage fashion and modern ready-to-wear pieces this week.

Amongst the coveted items, which spans five decades of catwalk designers, is the legendary Yves Saint Laurent Mondrian dress, a couture piece from its 1965 winter collection. The dress was worn by Moyra Swan on the September cover of Vogue Paris in the same year.

Other items include an original Pierre Cardin suit, a Giambattista Valli gown and an evening dress by Jeanne Lanvin. Lucky bidders have until Wednesday to place bids at the VV, 3 Rue Rissoni in Paris.

Bids for the Yves Saint Laurent Mondrian dress, or Lot 200, are expected to start at 8000 euros. At the time, the modernity of this collection earned Saint Laurent much praise from the press, whereby he was the first designer to showcase a new silhouette, away from decorative convention, by focusing on volume, geometry and modernism.
