When is London Fashion Week taking place?
London Fashion Week is a bi-annual fashion showcase taking place in London. The first edition of London Fashion Week took place in 1984, in a West London car park and was organized by the British Fashion Council. At the time, the event consisted of catwalk shows and exhibitions presenting the UK fashion industry and its talents. Nowadays, London Fashion Week is still organized by the BFC which aims to promote British fashion designers in both the UK and internationally. In addition to hosting a number of “on-schedule” shows, there are also “off-schedule” events, aimed at discovering new talents and featuring those who cannot afford displaying during London Fashion Week, which are organised by private-funded groups and take place at other venues in central London. In order to offer consumers a taste of London Fashion Week, the BFC also organises a retail-focused event following London Fashion Week each season known as London Fashion Week Festival, which is open to the general public and showcases local designers collections.
