British fashion brand Jigsaw has closed a thriving year, reporting annual sales that surpassed the 100 million pounds mark for the first time. The company explains that the high demand for slim-cut wool coats and jackets has been a key factor for the solid numbers.

Sales grew to 104.9 million pounds in the year to October, 3 helping to triple its underlying earnings to 5.4 million pounds. Meanwhile like-for-like sales added 12.3 percent.

The upmarket fashion retailer marks thus a second year of record results in a row, both under the management of Peter Ruis, who joined from John Lewis in autumn 2013, reports the ‘Independent’.

Commenting the results, Ruis highlighted the “immense successes” that a compact wool jacket and a double-breasted coat have become during the period.

It’s worth recalling that Ruis, former John Lewis executive, was appointed to the chain two years after the parent company Robinson Webster Holdings posted pre-tax losses of over 21.2 million pounds.
