Luxury London department store Liberty has posted a 5 percent rise in it annual sales to January 31, 2017, to 74.46 million pounds (99 million dollars), says a report by The Industry. It added that the company’s operating profit also increased to 6.38 million pounds (8.4 million dollars) from 6.16 million pounds (8.20 million dollars) in the previous year.

Quoting the company’s recently filed accounts at Companies House, the report further added that the store witnessed a considerable rise in its footfall by 1.7 percent compared to the West End in general, which had witnessed a decrease in footfall of 2.25 percent.

Recently, Liberty employed retail design agency Daytrip to redesign the menswear and womenswear departments set across three floors of their iconic heritage building. The aim was to reinstate the character and legacy of Liberty London, while maintaining a playful and eclectic store environment for their loyal customers. The store also launched a new ecommerce platform during the year under review.
