Luxury secondhand platform The RealReal has been talking to investment banks about the possibility of an initial public offering (IPO), according to international news agency Reuters, citing people familiar with the matter.

According to the sources, the company has sent out a request for proposals to prospective advisers to manage the listing this year still. Contacted by FashionUnited, The Real Real declined to comment.

Founded in 2011, The RealReal is one of the most successful marketplaces for second hand luxury items. The company raised 115 million US dollars last year, a deal which valued it at 745 million US dollars, according to PitchBook.
