Pitti announces 'Dance Off' theme for its A/W17 fairs

"Tell me how you dance and I'll tell you how to dress" is the new theme for Pitti Immagine's winter fairs, which is aptly titled Pitti Dance Off.

Athleisure and sportswear-inspired fashion are trends that are here to stay, and the Italian trade fair is embracing personal styles next season. The theme, according to Agostino Poletto, deputy general manger of Pitti Imagine, "is an invitation to express your body and your own style. Because this is what has always brought the world of dance closer to the world of fashion: the ultimate essence of the diversity and freedom of personal style. We will dance and talk about dance, in any shape or form and whatever meaning it can embody today. The pleasure of moving to the sound of music, on your own, in a couple, or in a group. So next January we will dance (and dress) the way we are, the way we want and know how to do … as long as it is to the rhythm of Pitti Dance Off!”

Pitti Uomo's focus on athletics, fashion and sportswear is reflected in the choice of guest designers and brands, which for next season include Golden Goose Deluxe Brand and menswear guest designer Tim Coppens who's collections mix athleticwear and fine tailoring.

Also on the schedule is Reebok, who will present its first collaboration with the British Cottweiler brand. The sportswear giant collaborated on a collection of apparel, footwear and accessories for autumn / winter 2017, characterized by highly technical fabrics, a fusion of the technical and cultural heritage of Reebok and the vision of Cottweiler. The result is an evolution of the concept of sportswear, where design and functionality become essential elements.

Pitti Uomo will run from 10 to 13 January, 2017 in Florence, Italy.
