Frieze Art Fair hasn’t even arrived yet, but it all seems to be about the arts this week. Cutting-edge fashion magazine Dazed&Confused teamed up with the Royal College of Art, Vauxhall is hosting its Art Boot Fair in East London this weekend, and today we heard designer store Matches is about to launch an installation by artist Abigail Lane.

For its new Marylebone High Street store, Matches invited Lane to create the installation ‘For Your Pleasure’. Lane will transform both floors of the store with art works that are inspired by the circus. Works in the exhibition will include decorative tables and screens as well as limited edition prints, crockery, t-shirts and cufflinks.

Abigail Lane was born in Penzance in 1967 and co-curated the group exhibition Freeze, alongside Damien Hirst, Gary Hume and Sarah Lucas. The installation will remain in the store for the next three months and is the first in a series of art projects curated by Karen Ashton, founder of the Art Car Boot Fair.

The recently opened store was designed with a gallery space in mind, all fixtures including rails designed to be removed so that it could be easily transformed into a gallery space. The project will launch on Tuesday 11th June.
