Next week sees 57 retailers make their debut in Birmingham, as the UK's second city makes its bid for retail premiership status with the opening of the new Bullring development.

The redevelopment of the Bullring on the site of Birmingham's traditional market centre, is a sign of the city's ambition to rank among the UK's major retail destinations. Built around anchor department stores for Selfridges and Debenhams, Bullring has been designed with a distinct retail offer on each of its three levels. High street fashion and catering is on the lower level, young fashion and lifestyle retailing at mid level and aspirational fashion on the upper level.

As a result, some 57 retailers will be making their Birmingham debut at Bullring, Europe's largest retail-led generation project, with a similar number taking additional stores while retaining existing units elsewhere in the city. Karen Millen, Mango, Borders and Gap are just a few of the retailers at the new development.
