Dior has been known for growing a little crazy with the footwear lately. Between the sneakers and latex boots, they are certainly falling outside of the realm of traditional luxury footwear. However, the brand has decided to make a return to their roots with their new Dioressence stiletto.

The shoe is reinterpretation of the luxury label's heel from their spring 1959 collection with some modern updates and a variety of color offerings. When the shoe was first launched in 1959, it was considered very innovative. It was one of the first shoes to feature a convex heel made with metal instead of wood, putting it ahead of its time.

The staple colors for the pumps are black and pink. In addition, the shoes also come in ochre, military green, cognac, "Trafalgar" red, bronze, white, anthracite gray, inky, azure, navy, and midnight. The two material options for the shoe are calfskin leather and lambskin leather.

While contrasting colors have become popular for other luxury brands like Prada or Jimmy Choo, Dior is sticking to all one color for their pumps. The heel of the shoe is slightly curved just to give it a little extra flair, and is available in 7 centimeters and 10 centimeters.

Good news for those lovers of heels who always complain about how they kill their feet, there's a rubber pad sole in the shoes. Perhaps the perfect pump has finally been found? Price points for the shoes range from 660 dollars to 710 dollars.

Dior is still maintaining their footing since the abrupt departure of their creative director Raf Simons last fall. Their next two collections are expected to be designed in-house, meaning that they probably won't be getting a new creative director anytime soon.

The brand will be showing their pre-fall 2016 show by appointment only instead of doing a full scale runway show. In the mean time, the show must go on. We'll see how Dior's sales figures translate without Simons at the helm.
