On 28th July, more than 3,000 guests experienced a stylish music festival hosted by Esprit. The event was held at the Germany  fashion fair cpd, in Düsseldorf, and marked the anniversary year 2008 with live gigs by Deichkind, Pohlmann, EL*KE, Jonas Goldbaum, DePhazz and Digitalism.

As part of a press conference, Esprit looked back in time and trend watcher Li Edelkoort dared to take a look into the year 2068. 'Snippets of information here and there make me believe in a better future and a happier lifestyle, and the trends we are decrypting for the future reflect this optimism. This will be, I believe the century of the fusion of contrasts; contrasts between young and old, old and new, healthy and naughty, abstract and narrative and body and soul'. This was the assessment of the trend forecaster who teamed up Esprit last year.

Esprit offered its guest an exclusive preview of 'What does Esprit mean to you?' The latest Esprit book, which will be published in September 2008, will provide insights into the world culture of the lifestyle brand.

Thomas Marschall, representative of SOS Children's Villages worldwide, presented a new dimension of the partnership between Esprit and SOS Children's Villages worldwide. The night was concluded with a festive fireworks display.
