International Woolmark Prize announces Judges for 2014/2015 competition

The judges for the International Woolmark Prize for 2014/2015 have been unveiled, with the upcoming competition selecting one overall winner for women's wear and men's wear for the first time. As such, the organization has decide to create separate judging panels for the men's wear and women's wear applicants.

Tim Blanks, editor at style.com, designer Paul Smith, Dylan Jones, editor-in-chief of GQ UK, and Nick Wooster have been selected to judge the men's wear award according to WWD, which celebrates design excellence using Merino Wool. The men's wear final will occur during the first day of London Collections: Men, on January 9.

Angelica Cheung, editor-in-chief of Vogue China, Franca Sozzani, editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia, Colin McDowell, fashion writer and designer Victoria Beckham will then go on to select the women's wear winner on March 17, in Beijing.

MyThereasa.com is set to offer the winning women's wear collection, whilst Matchesfashion.com will be the exclusive online retailer for the winning men's wear collection. Brick-and-mortar retailers Harvey Nichols, Isetan, Joyce Hong Kong, 10 Corso Como, Saks Fifth Avenue and David Jones will offer both winning collection from August 2015.

The International Woolmark Prize previously held five regional competitions in Asia, Australia, Europe, the US, and India and the Middle East during which 10 women's wear and men's wear finalists were selected and awarded 27,419 pounds at current exchange rate towards creating their next collection and an invitation to participate in the international final.

The women's wear finalists are Augustin Teboul for Europe, Bird on a Wire for India and the Middle East, M. Patmos for the US, Strateas.Carlucci for Australia, and VMajor for Asia. The men's wear finalists are Asger Juel Larsen for Europe, Public School for the US, Sise to Asia, Strateas.Carlucci for Australia, and The Emperor 1688 for India and the Middle East.

The winners of the men's wear and women's wear competition will each be awarded 54,839 pounds to aid with their fabric sourcing and marketing of their collection.
