Last week, Isabel Marant unveiled the first of its menswear line. The collection was revealed for the designers Spring/Summer 2018 collection with a total of eight looks.

The line is here to stay, as reported by WWD. "I gave in to popular demand," the eponymous designer told the publication. This is the first time the brand has ever introduced menswear along with its women's line. The menswear line was led in design by Barnabé Hardy. He first announced his arrival to the label on Instagram and has since moved the label to new lengths with introducing this new line of clothing.

He worked previously as creative director for Carven, making his debut into the fashion industry. He also worked with French fashion designer Nicolas Ghesquière at Callaghan and Balenciaga. With his past menswear experience in fashion, it's no surprise that he helped to lead the line for Isabel Marant.

The men's apparel includes soft color tones, color blocking trousers, thick crew neck knitwear, leather pants, and loose tank tops. While overall collection included both sporty and beach-inspired looks, the eight menswear looks were respectably in theme. Colors ranges from soft maroon, matte black, dark blue, canary yellow, light purple, and various others. Paired with slides or with flip flops, the overall menswear looks showed off a casual, relaxed aesthetic. Prices for the looks were not currently disclosed.

In the future, Hardy plans to launch a full men's capsule collection, as reported by the Fashion Network. As there are only eight looks currently, the collection is expected to expand more in the future. With the new line, this marks a new chapter for the French design house.
