Philip Green buys Moss Bros stake

Philip Green last week stated he purchased a 28 percent stake in Moss Bros and is considering making an offer for the fashion retailer.

An announcement to the stock exchange said that Green's vehicle, Warbeck Holding Company, had purchased 26.9 million shares at 24.95 pence a share.

The shares were originally held by Kaupthing Bank for Baugur.

"Warbeck is considering its alternatives in relation to Moss Bros, which include making an offer for the remaining shares it does not already own, however there can be no guarantee that any offer will be made," the announcement said.

Earlier this year Baugur abandoned plans for a 42p a share bid for Moss Bros after Laura Ashley, up 3p to 19p, raised its stake in the men's group to 10%.
