Sports brand Puma has signed an agreement which declares the brand an official partner of the COP21, also known as the 2015 Paris Climate Conference. Puma´s role involves supplying the 180 students who will be present to welcome visitors with clothes.

The COP21 will be held from 30 November to 11 December of this year. The clothes that Puma will provide for this event, include a T-Shirt and a hoodie that are made from organic cotton. Puma tapped well-known French handball player Luc Abolo to be an ambassador as part of the COP21 oufit presentation. “Protecting the environment is essential for the future of our planet, and I am delighted to be the Puma ambassador for this important cause,” said Abolo about his role.

In a press release that was issued this morning, Puma´s CEO Björn Gulden´s response to the agreement was positive: “Becoming an official partner of COP21 was a logical step for Puma given our on-going commitment to environmental protection,” said Puma´s CEO Björn Gulden in a press release.

Puma was founded in 1948 in Germany, but has evolved to become an international sportswear brand. The brand is currently sold at more than 2.000 points of sale in over 120 countries worldwide. Puma is a brand of the Kering Group, which also owns luxury brands such as Balenciaga and Gucci.
