Luxury e-tailer The Outnet has launched its first android app to complement its current digital offering across desktop and iOS, as part of its customer communication strategy to focus on a “mobile-first identity”.
The android app offers all the core functionality of The Outnet’s standard desktop site, as well as the ability to allow users to receive push notifications, alerting them when new products and brands are uploaded to the site or when exclusive sales are available to shop. The app also offers recommendations tailored to the browsing behaviour of the individual shopper.
Customers will also be offered exclusive access to app-only sales, and latest arrivals will be updated every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday via the Just In menu.
Commenting on the launch, The Outnet EVP – sales, marketing and creative, Andres Sosa, said: “The launch of the android app sees us cement a 360 cross platform approach for our customer. Being able to now offer Android will allow us to speak to a worldwide audience.
“As a digital retailer, we are able to track our customers’ behaviour and are aware that she is shopping more frequently on mobile than desktop. We have noticed particularly in the APAC region and Middle East that mobile now over-indexes desktop, accounting for over 50 percent of sales in those regions. Adding the Android app to our strategy will cement The Outnet as global brand with a global identity.”
The Outnet android app is available from the Google Play Store as a free download.
