Shop Direct’s Deputy CEO resigns

Gareth Jones, Shop Direct’s Deputy CEO, has resigned from his post after seven years. According to Retail Week, he will leave the multi-brand online retailer at the end of the year and does not have another job yet.

Until his departure or his replacement is found, Jones will continue to be responsible for the company’s trading, marketing and e-commerce, and for Very Exclusive.

In a statement, Jones said that the time was right for him ‘to explore other opportunities and do something different for me and my family’.

Meanwhile, Shop Direct has appointed Sasha Berson, former Groupon EMEA chief marketing officer and vice president, head of the company’s group strategy and customer direction. He will join the firm, and its board, in September.
