Harrods always seems to attract big crowds with the opening of its Boxing Day sales, previous sales have been kicked off by the likes of Florence Welch and Amanda Holden, and this year the sale shoppers will be treated to an exclusive performance by the West End cast of Elf the Musical.

The luxury department store is set to host a stage in Hans Crescent where the Elf cast will perform highlights of their show, including top numbers, ’There Is A Santa Claus’, ‘Never Fall in Love (with an Elf)’, ‘World’s Greatest Dad’ and finishing with the grand finale ‘Sparklejollytwinklejingley’, which includes a tap dancing routine by the whole ensemble.

Harrods group director of corporate affairs, Katharine Spence, said: “This year we are thrilled to host Elf the Musical. We’re sure it will delight our customers, particularly families who love to come to our First Sale Day. Our impeccable butlers will also be serving hot chocolate, to help keep out the cold.”

The winter sale is a key trading period for the Knightsbridge store and this year it is expected to welcome in excess of a million customers during the four-week sale period, where the luxury department store is offering discounts up to 50 percent off for women’s fashion lines, while accessories are reduced by 40 percent.

The Boxing Day sale will open at 10am on December 26. Shoppers will be entertained by Harrods butlers from 8am with the performance by Elf: the Musical starting at 9.40am.
