London - The UK Fashion and Textile association has reached out to the fashion community to inform brands and retailers it is working across government to help secure the best possible outcome for the industry during the negotiations that lie ahead.

Since the EU referendum, UKFT has been actively engaged with the Government including providing insight to the Prime Minster, HM Treasury, the International Trade Select Committee and the Departments for International Trade, Exiting the EU, and Culture Media & Sport and Business respectively.

UKFT is also collaborating closely with organisations such as the Engineering Employers Federation and the Creative Industries Federation. Some of the key items on the agenda in the coming months are to lobby the government for support to help the industry seize the opportunities that leaving the EU may bring, including significantly increased funding for exports, more support for skills and training and meaningful support for UK manufacturing. The UKFT also aims to secure the status of EU citizens working in the UK as soon as possible.

The UKFT is the UK voice and meeting place for suppliers of fashion & textiles providing support, export advice, information exchange and a voice to government and to retailers. For information how the organisation can help visit www.ukft.org.
