Alice Temperley’s debut book, True British, is out on

Tuesday. Featuring beautiful imagery spanning her family, inspirations, textile designs, backstage shots and most iconic pieces, the designer is keen to open up her world to her fans.

"It is a very open document, a complete look into the world of Temperley and an honest account of building a brand," she says. "I love the personal silly images, showing that we can of course laugh at ourselves. A few in there I like watching people's reactions to. I love the mood boards which explains my creative journey and giving an insight into my archive. I wanted to show the process of design, in front of and behind the scenes. This makes it a very real story of an independent design house."

Her closest friends and family were on hand to help put the tome together; “"My sister Matilda helped me archive everything; she is a photographer with work in the book, and was also picture editor throughout," explained Temperley. "Priscille Neefs came on board with the design and Chairman Griffin, a brilliant creative writer, to tell the story. We pulled the book and design together over a five-month period, in all of my minimal spare time."
