Karl Lagerfeld has signed a global licensing deal with Children Worldwide Fashion, the French manufacturing and distribution company behind other luxury childrenswear lines from DKNY, Burberry and Marc Jacobs.

The partnership will see Lagerfeld launching a debut kidswear line for spring/summer 2016 comprising of clothing, footwear and accessories for boys and girls from newborn to 16 years in two seasonal collections per year, which CWF claims will allow the designer to share his “ironic, playful, creative vision to a young audience.”

Freddy Mallet, CEO of CWF said: "We are particularly pleased about this partnership with Karl Lagerfeld. It is in line with our continuous search of collaboration with luxury brands of international renown. We are very ambitious about development objectives for this line, which is fully legitimate in CWF portfolio of brands under license."

The line will launch worldwide, but will initially focus on the brand’s key markets in Europe, the Middle East and Korea. In the UK it will be stocked in House of Fraser, Harrods and Selfridges.

Children Worldwide Fashion produces and distributes childrenswear collections for several brands under licence including Chloé, Hugo Boss, and Timberland, as well as producing its own in-house ranges, Billieblush, Billybandit and Carrément Beau.
