New West End Company, the organisation responsible for the management and promotion of London's Bond Street, Oxford Street and Regent Street, has strengthened its main strategic board with the appointed of seven “retail heavyweights”.

The seven new additions are: John Lewis retail director Andrew Murphy, Austin Reed chief executive Nick Hollingworth, Aurum Holdings chief executive Brian Duffy, Tiffany UK and Ireland managing director Barratt West, House of Fraser chief operating officer Peter Gross, Longchamp UK general manager Paul Lorraine, and Boots director of stores for the south Andrew Caplan. All will assume their positions with immediate effect.

They join the eight current members of the board which includes Fenwick chairman Mark Fenwick, Selfridges operations director Sue West, and Land Securities managing director Scott Parsons.

Sir Peter Rogers, chairman of New West End Company, said: “London’s West End is a major economic driver for the country generating over 51 billion pounds to the national economy each year. It is vital the West End business voice is heard with the new Government and a future Mayor. Our job is to ensure we have enlightened policies and investment for the world’s top shopping and leisure destination to thrive.

“Our strengthened board will drive policy influence at all levels of Government and provide an even greater international network to the retail and property sector.”
