In what is a very brilliant business move, JD.com has signed a deal with Luxottica group, creating one of the biggest sunglasses partnerships in history. The Italian eye-wear maker will continue to sell their own brand of course, as well as Oakley, Ray-Ban, and Vogue. But, now, their new partnership will also extend them to selling Michael Kors, Burberry, Prada, Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Chanel.

JD.com announced the deal Sunday. The company boasts the status of being the second largest e-commerce company in China, second only to Alibaba group. “We are delighted to be partnering with Luxottica, the clear global leader in luxury eyewear, to expand out offering in this market that is rapidly growing among Chinese consumers,” Xin Lijun, Vice President of JD.com, said in a statement. “Partnerships with leading luxury producers such as Luxottica underline the trust that our global partners have in JD.com, not only to drive sales, but also to provide consumers guaranteed authentic products and best possible brand experience.”

JD.com will begin holding merchandise from Luxottica in its own warehouses, making it possible for their customers to take advantage of same or next-day delivery service. The wait for those new Gucci frames you've had your eyes on will now be a lot shorter thanks to JD.com and Luxottica's new partnership. With summer coming, now is the perfect time to get that perfect pair of shades, and purchasing will be speedier and easier thanks to JD.com and Luxottica.
