British fashion label Jonathan Saunders has appointed Rupert Maunsell, a former operations director at womenswear brand Mary Katrantzou, as its chief executive, as the label looks to push forward with its growth following its investment from Eiesha Bharti Pasricha.

Maunsell, who has also held roles at Avenue 32 and Temperley London takes up his position immediately and has been tasked with "leading a series of key hires across the business in order to execute the strategic growth of the brand".

"I have always admired Jonathan's work immensely and feel fortunate to be working with such a great talent," said Maunsell. "I am delighted to be part of this new chapter at Jonathan Saunders and look forward to developing this fantastic British brand together."

Saunders added: “It’s a significant step for the brand and I’m excited about his forward thinking approach to expansion. We have a shared vision and I’m looking forward to working together to actualise it.”

Pasricha, who invested in the company in January this year, commented: “Rupert’s appointment as chief executive to the brand is the most crucial hire we have made to enable us to execute our vision.

“He is a remarkable individual with an exceptionally hands-on approach grounded in operations and strategy right from the grass root level. I am certain we will be able to nurture the brand into its next phase with Jonathan’s creative direction and Rupert at the helm.”
