Mamas and Papas adds to technology

Baby & parent products retailer Mamas & Papas has

today announced a new deal with retail technology specialists One iota which will develop its online capabilities across new channels. As part of its remit One iota will be tasked with providing an advanced mobile website which will offer a full transactional service, store locator, customer reviews and sight of the whole of the retailer’s product range.

Mamas & Papas will also be hoping to launch a new tablet optimised website, a Facebook commerce store and iPhone app over the next few months with the help of One iota.

Commenting on the plans, Rob Jennings, ecommerce Director at Mamas & Papas, said: “Technology continues to play a key part in our operations – currently 20 per cent of website visitors access our site via their mobile and we expect this trend to at least double in the next 12 months.
“In line with smartphone growth in the UK, we know that mobile sales will form a significant proportion of our sales in years to come; particularly as it is so relevant to our industry in which busy parents increasingly want their digital experience ‘on the go’ through devices that are suited around their lifestyle.”
