Fashion retailer Mint Velvet planning to expand its retail empire,

aiming to triple its portfolio of stand alone stores by 2015.

The company, which last month was named by the Sunday Times PwC Profit Track 100 as ‘Ones to Recognise,' currently has 9 stores and 83 concessions. The expansion would see it store number grow to 20 - 30 stand alone boutiques.

The latest opening was in Guildford last week, with two further stores planned to open in Harrogate and Farnham this spring.

Stuart Grant, operations director at Mint Velvet said: "We wouldn’t rule out opening more concessions, but our main focus is on standalone stores."

Mint Velvet was founded in 2009 by Clarks chairman Peter Davies and the team behind the Principles womenswear chain. The company launched a click-and-collect service last week and is also looking to offer an international delivery service through its UK website by the end of the year.
