Gant names new creative director

Swedish lifestyle brand Gant has promoted head of design Christopher Bastin  to creative

 director replacing Bob Andrews, who will step down as creative director at the end of July after being with the brand for more than two years.

Bastin, who joined Gant in 2005 as lead shirt designer, will start his new role on August 1, and will be responsible for providing direction and inspiration across all collections. In addition, he will also collaborate on marketing and pr and support licensed product extensions.

In his seven years at the brand, Bastin has established the Gant historical archive and in 2009 he helped relaunch Gant’s Rugger label, becoming head of design for the line.

Commenting on his promotion, Bastin said: “As part of the Gant team, I have been lucky to experience many company milestones throughout the years. I hope to build upon these successes as we develop the Gant brand and our collections towards ever higher levels of desirability.”
