American fashion label Brooks Brothers has named Giles

Preston to the newly created position of wholesale manager for the UK, as it aims to expand its British wholesale operations.

Preston, who has previously worked for Ermenegildo Zegna in the US, will be responsible for developing the Brooks Brothers wholesale distribution for products categories including apparel and accessories for men, women and children, as well as the Black Fleece by Brooks Brothers collection designed by Thom Browne.

“As America’s oldest apparel brand and a true style authority Brooks Brothers has a unique position in the market,” said Jane McCann, UK general manager. “We see tremendous opportunity to expand our relationships with specialty stores. Giles brings a wealth of experience and an understanding on both the US and UK markets and I welcome him to the team.”

It is hoped that with a new wholesale manager in the UK that the American label can grow its store numbers. Currently the brand has seven stores in the UK and Ireland, including London, Manchester and Edinburgh, and has a number of outlets.
