Debenhams signs to Leamington Shopping Park

Department store Debenhams has announced that it is

to open a 40,000 square foot store in the Leamington Spa by the end of the year.

The retailer has signed a 15-year lease with the Gibraltar Limited Partnership, which owns the 135,000 square foot Leamington Shopping Park in Leamington Spa, and will replace the Focus unit. Debenhams will join other fashion retailers including New Look, Outfit, Clarks and Mamas & Papas, which recently opened a 4,000 square foot store.

Robert Hadfield, Head of Property for Debenhams, said: “We were really impressed by the quality of the retailers and environment at Leamington Shopping Park. We are delighted to be opening the store before Christmas and it follows our strategy of securing the right store in the right market.”

Refurbishment work has begun on the new Debenhams store, which is expected to open in November and will become a significant anchor for the shopping park.
