Announced by actress Carey Mulligan and Karl Lagerfeld, Alabama based fashion designer

Billy Reid took home the prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award. The award supports budding talent with their business by funding and mentoring.

The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award includes a $300,000 cash prize for the winner and $100,000 for each runner-up. Eddie Brogo and Prabal Gurung were both named as runners-up during the awards dinner. Selected from a shortlist of 10 young designers, Reid also received a sculpture by artist Rachel Feinstein. The cash prize is offered in partnership with J. Crew and underwritten by L'Oréal Paris, Nordstrom, Theory, American Express, Barneys New York, Coach, Juicy Couture, Appleman Foundation, Liz Claiborne, Lord & Taylor and Vogue.

Being in the business over ten years, Reid designs both mens and womenswear. He won CFDA’s Perry Ellis Award back in 2001.
