House of Fraser may float in 2014

Department store group House of Fraser may be heading for an IPO later this year now that the company

is no longer in talks with Galeries Lafayette.

Last year House of Fraser was in talks with the French department store group about a possible takeover, however HoF is thought to have ended such possibility.

That would allow the group to now consider a flotation on the stock market in 2014.

According to the The Times newspaper, management changes at Galeries Lafayette and the outlook of equity markets influenced HoF’s decision.
