British department store group Marks & Spencer has launched its first stand alone pop-up shop dedicated to its
back-to-school assortiment in Trafford Center, Manchester. The pop-up shop, which is set to operate until September 7, offers M&S's full collection for children between the ages of 3 to 16. Shoppers are directed from M&S's main store in the mall to the temporary back-to-school location via a message written on a A-stand blackboard, keeping in line with the school theme.
An M&S spokesperson revealed to Drapers that the pop-up shop was opened as a “specific opportunity” to the Trafford Centre, which is said to be M&S's top store for back-to-school items.
“It is a busy time for schoolwear and we wanted to dedicate more space to this area. We're always on the lookout for opportunities to enhance the shopping experience for customers, but there are no further plans to roll out this model,” added the spokesperson.
