John Lewis has become the first major retailer

on the high street to scrap the refund limit policy.

The retailer has announced today that it will be abolishing the 28 day rule for ‘a never ending refund’ in a bid to encourage cautious shoppers in austere times.
And the good news is that the new policy even applies to dresses and items bought before this year.

Andrew Murphy, head of retail, says, ‘it will give customers the confidence to shop again.’

Murphy went onto attack critics suggesting that the policy would just see a flux of returns, ‘We are not doing is so people can clear out their wardrobes,” he said. “We are doing it to underline to people in economically difficult times that there is one shop you can buy from where you will not end up regretting it.’

The only other store to offer a ‘never ending refund’ is department store, Lakeland. Other retailers are now expected to follow suit.
