Italian fashion house Giorgio Armani is stepping up its social media

initiatives with the launch of a digital transmission: #ArmaniTweetTalks.

The pioneering social media project will be a series of live discussion on topics relating to the fashion industry, which will be broadcast on the web through the Twitter platform. The talks will take the form of Q&A sessions with notable guests chosen from the fashion world for their expertise and significant number of Twitter followers, and Armani will act as facilitator, steering the discussion.

The first talk takes place on June 1 as part of the Armani One Night Only in Beijing event, and will discuss how China is rapidly shaping up to be the most influential fashion market of the twenty-first century.

Peter Howarth will moderate a panel composed of: Vogue China’s Editor-in-Chief, Angelica Cheung; ‘Publisher and Tastemaker’ Hung Huang; fashion critic Godfrey Deeny; Yoox’s Founder and CEO, Federico Marchetti; and bloggers Susie Lau and Tommy Ton.

Armani adds in the press statement that the talk will be divided into several “volumes” and accessible on a dedicated website, Armani.com/tweettalks, to make the ‘Tweet Talks’ easy to follow.
