Karl-Heinz Müller, founder of Bread & Butter Berlin trade show,

revealed today what changes will occur for its upcoming July edition, following a previous announcement earlier this month that Bread & Butter would open its doors to consumers.

During a press conference, Müller stated that Bread & Butter will take place over five days in July, instead of three. The first day of the trade show, which will be Tuesday 8 July, will be dedicated to the press, then the next two days will be aimed towards buyers and retailers, known as the “professional days” and the last two days will be “public days,” open to consumers.

Press and industry professionals are invited to visit the trade show throughout its duration and are not limited to the first days, however only the final two days will be made accessible to the public, who can purchase a day ticket for 25 euros to visit Bread & Butter.

The rules for industry professionals who wish to attend Bread & Butter remain the same as before; professionals who are connected to businesses at Bread & Butter have free admission, all professionals who are not connected will have to pay the entrance fee of 500 euros. The price for exhibitor booths has gone up slightly, from 380 euros per square meter to 400 euros per square meter.

Müller stressed during the press conference that there will be no selling to consumers during the trade show because he does not want to create any competition between the trade show and retailers. He added that it will be up to the exhibitors themselves if they wish to show new collections or current ones to the consumers during the “public days.”
