Cos to open New York store

H&M owned premium retail chain Cos is launching in the US next year, with a store opening

confirmed for New York’s Soho district.

Due to open in spring 2014, the store opening marks a “new chapter” in the brand’s planned expansion, and will follow the retailer’s US e-commerce launch, which is also due next year.

Marie Honda, overall brand responsible for Cos, said: “We are all looking forward to the opening. New York City is a vibrant and exciting city and we feel Soho will be the ideal setting for our first store”.

The brand’s expansion into America follows the news that the retailer is opening a further three stores in London by the end of the year on King’s Road, Canary Wharf and in the Bentall Centre in Kingston upon Thames.

Cos currently has 75 stores in 17 countries including the UK, and in countries across Europe including Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, France, Spain, and Ireland. The brand also retails online to 18 European markets.
