Harper’s Bazaar appoints new fashion director

The UK’s fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar is delighted to

announce the appointment of Gabriele Hackworthy as Fashion Director. Renowned for her contemporary vision and cutting edge style, Hackworthy joins Bazaar with more than 15 years’ experience as a Fashion Director and Creative consultant in Sydney, New York and London.

Originally from Sydney, Hackworthy became Fashion Director at Australian Vogue at the age of 26 before moving to New York where she worked as Fashion Director-At-Large for Japanese Vogue. She joined Chinese Vogue in 2004 when the title first launched, working in a dual role of Fashion Director-At-Large for both Asian titles.

Hackworthy, who replaces former Creative/Fashion Director Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou, will lead the Harper’s Bazaar fashion team, reporting on trends from around the world and directing the main fashion shoots, covers and celebrities for the world-class brand.

Harper’s Bazaar is edited by Lucy Yeomans and published by the National Magazine Company. The magazine recently recorded its highest ever ABC (February 2011) of 119,712 - up 8.2% year on year.
