Harvey Nichols appoints two new directors

Luxury department store group Harvey Nichols has appointed two new directors, who are to report directly to the group's

new CEO Stacey Cartwright, as the group continues its internal restructuring shake up of its press and marketing departments.

The group revealed on Monday that Shadi Halliwell had been appointed group marketing and creative director, effective as of June 9, and Emma Byrne has been named group communications director, starting April 28.

Shadi Halliwell commented on her new appointment: “I have been a huge fan of Harvey Nichols for the past 20 years – the heritage of the brand and everything it represents in the luxury retail market. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to further develop its future in the UK and internationally.”

Halliwell, who previously worked at O2 as head of brand and marketing communications will be in charge of brand development, while Byrne, who was formerly a communications director for Barclays bank's retail companies, will head Harvey Nichols' internal and external communications.

Emma Byrne added: “This is a fabulous time to be joining a business with so much potential, and a brand with such resonance and loyalty both at home and overseas – it’s a real privilege to join Stacey and the team on this next chapter for the business.”

Both will become members of Harvey Nichols' management board once they begin their new roles. The two new appointments follow Julia Bowe departure from Harvey Nichols earlier this month, who was previously the groups marketing and press director.
