Hermès Q1 sales up 12.8 percent

Hermès has reported its first quarter financial report for the three months ended

March 31, 2013. Sales grew 12.8 percent at constant exchange rates and 10.3 percent at current exchange rates. Revenue also grew 12.8 percent. Revenues from wholesale channels grew 9.9 percent at constant exchange rates. Hermès International did not buy back any of its own shares during the first quarter of 2013, other than shares traded under the liquidity contract.

In the first quarter, growth was dynamic in all geographic regions. Non-Japan Asia (China, Macau and Taiwan) was 17 percent. Japan was 7 percent. America was 11 percent and Europe was 12 percent.

Hermès is based in Paris. For 2013 Hermès will continue to follow its strategy based on creativity, maintaining control over its know-how, expanding its distribution network, strengthening its production capacity and safeguarding its sources of supply.
