Menswear trade show, Jacket Required has a new location

and more exhibitors for its show in February. For the shows second season, the exhibition will take place in the Bloomsbury Ballrooms, a larger modern showroom space, which allows the directional tradeshow to accommodate more than 90 brands.

Taking place from February 12-13, the show is building on the success of its debut show, which hosted over 35 brands including Japanese streetwear brands like CE and Mr Bathing Ape, as well as British labels such as Wolsey. The show already has brands confirmed for its 2012 show including: heritage labels - Chapman Bags, Sanders & Sanders, Penfield USA, Carhartt Work In Progress and Edwin. They are joined by streetwear brands such as: NewYorkThing, Gourmet along with Bedwin and the Heartbreakers; as well as a host of overseas brands including Porter, Dunderdon, Veja and Chevignon Togs.

“We hadn't anticipated the scale of interest in the project,” explains Craig Ford one of the shows organisers. “We'd allocated all the stands before we announced the show in the media - and immediately got three times more brands looking to take part. It showed that the need for a dedicated menswear trade exhibition was even greater than we’d initially thought.”

“Globally, there's a well established circuit of trade shows. Being new we recognize that we have to try that bit harder - not by competing with those shows, but by creating genuine points of difference,” added Andrew Parfitt, co-founder of the Jacket Required. “Over the three day period of the exhibition, it's important to us to make the experience of the brands, the visiting buyers and all the other people coming to the event as productive and as enjoyable as possible.”
