According to Sir Philip Green, chief executive officer and owner of Tophop, rumours

that Kate Moss comeback collection did not sell as well as anticipated and has therefore ended up in the sale is rubbish.

“The range was very, very successful and we waited until the end of the season to clear whatever was left. No more complicated than that,” explained Green to The Daily Mail when questioned why certain items from the collection went on sale.

Earlier this year the top model unveiled her come back collection for the British retailer. Although Green previously stated that it was “ the best [collection] we've done yet,” and that everyone who had seen the clothes “loved them,” the collection drew mixed reactions from customers around the world.

Back in 2007, the debut Kate Moss for Topshop collection drew hordes of hysterical fans, but her 15th collection, said to be more “luxurious,” offered selected statement pieces for a higher than usual price point, with most pieces starting around the 85 pound price point. This price point could have ultimately encourage a number of consumers to risk waiting until the sales began to nab the item they were eyeing.

“There's nothing untoward, whether it's got Kate Moss in it, or any other brand, what we've got left at the end of the season around the globe, we sell,” added Sir Green. “There's nothing that sells 100 percent, whatever it is – it doesn't exist in any business.”

Even though Green is adamant about the Kate Moss for Topshop collection's sales, he remains mum on news of a future collection."I don't know, I haven't decided," he said. "We haven't had that conversation yet."
