Marks & Spencer is launching a new department for parents as it seeks to grab market share from struggling
rivals like Mothercare.The chain will this week begin trading from dedicated M&S Baby areas in nine stores, coupled with an online push. It has drafted in the help of eight brands, which M&S childrenswear director Stephanie Chen said were the ‘global leaders’ in their product areas.
‘We already have a very strong clothing offer for toddlers, but this is about extending that to a more comprehensive range for parents and mums-to-be.
