SuperGroup, the owner of the Superdry clothing brand

has announced new appointments to its board: Susanne Given will join in a newly created role as Chief Operating Officer and Shaun Wills, as Chief Financial Officer, and both will sit on the board from April.

Given has more than 20 years of retail experience working for House of Fraser, Harrods, and TK Maxx, and most recently she was Director of Fashion and Beauty at John Lewis Partnership. Her prime focus will be ‘operational improvements and driving efficiencies in the UK Retail business’ and she will also oversee central support functions including marketing, logistics, sourcing, IT and property.

Peter Bamford, Chairman, said: "I am delighted to welcome Susanne and Shaun to the Group. They bring a wealth of branded retail expertise to the management team. Susanne's appointment will allow Julian Dunkerton the space and time to focus on the development of the Superdry brand and our product.

“I look forward to working with both Susanne and Shaun and on behalf of all at SuperGroup I would like to express thanks to Chas for his total commitment and, in particular, his crucial role in taking the Group through its transition into a public company."

The group also announced that Chas Howes will be remaining with the group but will stand down from the Board on April 23 as he ‘wishes to have a role that is less demanding of his time’.
