Supergroup names new non-exec directors

Supergroup, the owner of the Superdry clothing brand,

has appointed Minnow Powell and Euan Sutherland as non-executive directors, ahead of two stepping down next year.

Both Powell and Sutherland will join Supergroup’s board with effect from December 1, while current non-executive directors Steven Glew and Indira Thambiah will step down at the end of their three-year terms, in February 2013.

Powell, who has worked at business consultancy firm Deloitte for 25 years, has also been confirmed as chairman of the audit committee at SuperGroup.

Sutherland is currently group chief operating officer and a director of home improvement retailer Kingfisher, and brings with him experience working for AS Watson UK, owner of retailers Superdrug and Savers, Matalan, Dixons, Coca-Cola and Mars. He is also a non-executive director at the Co-op Food Board.

Commenting on the appointments, Supergroup chairman Peter Bamford, said: "The board and I wish to put on record our gratitude to both Steven and Indira for their high quality input and significant contribution to the success of Supergroup through a period which has seen fast growth and considerable change.

"I am delighted to welcome Minnow and Euan who will, I am sure, give wise counsel and the benefit of their broad experience to the board through the next exciting phase of the Company's development."
