REPORT_ The heat wave in Britain has helped the Superdry

brand boost its sales. While its traditional menswear line continued to do well, Superdry’s offerings of casual crop tops and camisoles did huge sales.

In fact Supergroup first quarter sales rocketed by 25.7 percent. Retail sales grew 17.6 percent. Like-for-like sales meanwhile grew 8.5 percent. The Spring/Summer 2013 ranges performed well across all channels with further progress made in women’s wear. Buoyed by the encouraging prospects, Superdry has for the new season a fresh range of high-ticket hoodies and its trademark puffer jackets.

Superdry is a brand recognized for its bright color palette and the iconic Japanese aesthetic. CEO Julian Dunkerton was pleased with the results. “We have started the year in fine form and have continued to build momentum in both the retail and wholesale divisions. The strong growth in Autumn/Winter orders is further evidence of the continued improvement in our ranges and the enduring appeal of our brand.”
