Texprocess Forum 2011 Top Themes: Sourcing, Sustainability and Social Standards

Sourcing, sustainability

and social standards are the major issues to be covered in the lecture series of the Texprocess Forum at the new leading international trade fair, Texprocess, from 24 to 27 May in Frankfurt am Main. Major responsibility for drawing up the programme falls to the industrial association 'Dialog Textil-Bekleidung'. The GermanFashion Modeverband Deutschland, Euratex (European Apparel and Textile Confederation) and IAF (International Apparel Federation) have also been involved. The Texprocess Forum will be held throughout the duration of the trade fair from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Hall 6.0.

The sessions devoted to Sourcing will be concerned with, amongst other things, interesting alternative sourcing markets like Eastern Europe, Africa and South America. High-profile speakers will be presenting procedures for assessing the success of sourcing strategies as well as systems for planning, monitoring and controlling the sourcing network. Sustainability is coming to have an ever more important role in apparel manufacturing. In the Texprocess Forum, experts will analyse how sustainability can be monitored and how, for example, the CO2 footprint can be improved. Of central interest is, as always, the maintenance of social standards. The Texprocess Forum will deal with issues such as the responsibility of the individual company and will examine the question of how reliable the results of social audits really are.
