US performance wear, footwear and accessories retailer Under Armour is set to

invest over 100 million dollars in its new distribution center in Nashville, Tennessee.

The new 1 million square feet facility, the third distribution center for the retailer, will provide 1,000 new jobs to the area and is set to open early 2016. Kip Fulks, chief operating officer and president of product at Under Armour, added that the company had already negotiated second rights to double the space by another million square feet in the future.

“We're a growth company, so we expect full-heartedly to expand,” he explained. Under Armour plans on expanding the facility over the next five years, creating a total of 1,500 new jobs. “Under Armour’s mission is to make all athletes better, and that begins by building a great team and providing best in class service for our customers.”

Under Armour’s other distribution centers are located in Rialto, California, and near its headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland.
