Victoria's Secret signs to Meadowhall centre

Following news American lingerie brand, Victoria's Secret,

had launched in Stansted Airport, further expansion plans will now include Meadowhall Shopping Centre. British Land, property investment company, which owns Meadowhall announced the lingerie company will join the retail offering, which has attracted strong demand for its spaces since the end of last year.

British Land also includes the Whiteley's shopping Mall, near Southampton, in its portfolio, which is currently in development and the company has agreed a further 23,000 sq ft of pre-lets.

Chris Grigg, chief executive, said: "The business continues to perform well in markets which remain tough overall. We've continued to see good demand for our properties, which means our occupancy remains high and our developments are now significantly pre-let well ahead of completion.

"While we remain cautious about the near-term environment, we are confident that British Land is not only defensive in today's challenging markets but also well positioned to deliver future growth from existing and new investments."
