Walpole announces new board appointments

Walpole, the luxury brands trade body, has announced the

appointment of Michael Ward, managing director of Harrods, and Jonathan Heilbron, CEO of Thomas Pink, to its board of directors.

Prior to joining the board, both Ward and Heilbron have been long-time supporters of Walpole, as being Walpole Brands of Tomorrow mentors, they regularly speak at the bodies seminars and workshops and have participate in judging the Walpole Awards for Excellence. 

In addition to these board appointments, Walpole has also created a new Advisory Council to provide further senior level advice and support to the organisation. Sir David Bell, former Chairman of Walpole has been appointed President and fellow members of the Advisory Council will include Guy Salter and Sarah Elton.

Commenting on the new council and appointments, Walpole said in a statement: “We believe that the new board members and the newly formed Council will be instrumental in driving Walpole forward and taking it to its next stage of growth.

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Michael Ward and Jonathan Heilbron to the board. They both have extensive experience in the luxury and corporate sectors and are hugely valuable additions to the board.”
